When the devil warns you about its minions or doom,,, it certainly does not make the devil a good angel. Or,,, a dog warns you before it attacks, a smiling person can hug you then stab your back,, Etc etc.

In economics, if you forgo a benefit that you could have had, this is deemed an opportunity cost. If a hedge fund manager leaves a million pound a year job to take a 100 grand a year role at a charity for disabled donkeys, then by an opportunity cost measure, he has spent about ten times his next year's income on taking that job.

If your mother quits her job to look after your ailing granny, something similar applies.

In politics it's about power and benefits. That is their economy.
