There's been a number of articles about cancer cures and breakthroughs in the past six months (though few recently). Most are tied to a cancer conference as it turned out.

This article takes a level-headed look at the announcements. There is some interpretation involved as to what constitutes a breakthrough. The philosophical question would be how much progress have we made on cancer (or any other medical problem?) And what's around the corner? Here's an article:

All science reported by the quisling press is junk science now day; pop science. It is to misdirect and feelgood while being politically correct. Even "real science" now days is turning into junk science.

This is going to bite us on the ass one of these days.

I just saw one guy defending the adulteration of meat because it can be extended to feed more people! Of course he won't eat the crap.
