Governments around the world should decriminalise drug use and possession for personal consumption for all drugs.

Many drugs should be legalized. But stuff like heroin, meth, and cocaine/crack should just be stricken from existence. Marijuana is quite amazing. The medicinal aspects are staggering. LSD is amazing to experience. I'm all for the hallucinogens. But stuff like heroin and meth...too bad of a track record. Crack...people get caught up in that stuff and it really seems to be something that humans can't handle. Bad ideas. Sure, if Science can utilize those drugs for medicinal applications, great. Cocaine just seems like something assholes do...excuse my language. People's dependency on coffee is bad enough. Energy drinks...bleh. It's one thing to expand the mind...but to wrench it all out of context and spike it out of control with various uppers...just not good for the mind.
Perhaps it was ideal to use heroin in cough syrups in the 1900s, but medical science has come a long way and the idea of using heroin to fight a cough...when menthol works pretty darn well. All I'm saying is that the mind doesn't have to go in every direction possible.
It would be great if alcohol was stricken from existence, tho. That stuff has really ruined way too much.

Yeah, I HATE alcohol - and I find myself all too often drinking it.
I think something like 1.5% of all populations are addicts & will be addicts - no matter what the law is.
Perhaps treating addition as a disease instead of a crime would be a better way to look at things?

It is improper for the government to prevent people from doing whatever they want as long as it doesn't interfere with other people. The AEP would abolish all drug laws immediately if not sooner.
