What would it take to convince you that somebody is a prophet?

Does he have to turn water into wine, or what, exactly?
For the discussion of all things philosophical.

Okay, so first: Why is it a "he"?bobevenson wrote:Does he have to turn water into wine, or what, exactly?
They would have to deny they were one, at everyones insistence that they were.bobevenson wrote:Does he have to turn water into wine, or what, exactly?
Why do you bring me into it, I'm just asking a question, for which you don't have an answer, right?Hobbes' Choice wrote:There name would have to be something other than Bob Evenson, as he has already queered his pitch.
Bob, give us a break, only the newest of newbies to this site would believe for a second that this topic of yours is not about you. I've heard years of your self professing, self stroking, so called, prophethood.bobevenson wrote:Why do you bring me into it, I'm just asking a general question, but you apparently don't have an answer to it, right?Hobbes' Choice wrote:There name would have to be something other than Bob Evenson, as he has already queered his pitch.
I'm just using standard English instead of the convoluted "he or she."Lacewing wrote:Okay, so first: Why is it a "he"?bobevenson wrote:Does he have to turn water into wine, or what, exactly?
Why do they have to confirm or deny it? The question is, what would it take to convince you that somebody is a prophet?SpheresOfBalance wrote:They would have to deny they were one, at everyones insistence that they were.bobevenson wrote:Does he have to turn water into wine, or what, exactly?
Can't answer the question, huh?SpheresOfBalance wrote:Bob, give us a break, only the newest of newbies to this site would believe for a second that this topic of yours is not about you. All the "she's" don't think that's convoluted.bobevenson wrote:I'm just using standard English instead of the convoluted "he or she."Lacewing wrote:Okay, so first: Why is it a "he"?

I already answered the question above. Can't keep track of your own thread? Not very prophetic is it?bobevenson wrote:Can't answer the question, huh?SpheresOfBalance wrote:Bob, give us a break, only the newest of newbies to this site would believe for a second that this topic of yours is not about you. a) Any English teacher will back me up on the use of "he" being the proper term, and b) the question is what it would take to convince you that somebody is a prophet.Lacewing wrote:All the "she's" don't think that's convoluted.bobevenson wrote:I'm just using standard English instead of the convoluted "he or she."Lacewing wrote:Okay, so first: Why is it a "he"?You can use "one".
I'm curious: Do you think there are only a select few prophetic people? What about all the false or wanna-be or mistaken prophets who don't understand the influence of their own mind and ego better than anyone else does?
This could be an interesting topic if we really dig into it.
No, you didn't answer the question. And, by the way, you apparently don't understand the meaning of the word "prophet" in this context. It means any divinely inspired utterance.SpheresOfBalance wrote:I already answered the question above. Can't keep track of your own thread? They would have to deny they were one, at everyones insistence that they were.

Oh, I see -- we're not asking any other related questions. And I've already answered the topic question. So, it sounds like there's a specific, limited agenda since we're not considering or exploring beyond that.bobevenson wrote:
