Voluntary euthanasia, legalised marijuana, gay marriage. Perhaps your country really is starting to return to its liberal ideals.

Good. Rights for all, or rights for none. No in-between.

just don't make your religious views public

I can't wait until they force an African American baker to bake a confederate flag cake

Oh, boo hoo! Canada hasn't fallen apart for giving gays the same rights everyone else takes for granted. Equal rights for all, or for none. That's how it should be. Poor offended fanatic.

It's not a right, and even if it were, they already had it.

Oh right...I forgot...you jackasses and your 'personal responsibility' bullshit.

Of course. ..they could have uprooted their families and moved to a state that allowed same sex marriage , right?

It because of mean people like you this was even an issue in the first place. You should be ashamed.

Does anyone really believe that having to bake a confederate flag cake is the worst insult an African American baker has been subjected to? Ever? This week? Since lunch?

No, they can marry someone of the opposite sex. That what marriage is. This ruling is beyond ludicrous.

Hey! Why should only straight people drag balls and chains? Why should only straight people have to split their house when they split their relationships? Why should only straight people have to squabble over and rip their children in half? Why should only straight people have to devise prenuptial agreements and hide their money in tax havens? Why should only straight people have to make decisions about turning off the respirator on someone they loved for fifty years? Why should the gays get off scot free? Let 'em suffer!

'Hyperbole': deliberate exaggeration.
I don't think that is what Imp is about, is it?

It's fine and dandy - fantastic even - to have equal rights legislation; however, deep-rooted attitudes/beliefs take a longer time to change, if ever. Even if (would-be) prime ministers, presidents have not a religious bone in their body, they are hardly likely to admit it.
Let's count the closet atheists or non-believers in a God - oh wait...
If some still take the Bible literally and base their political policies on it...the risk remains...of throw-backs.

As far as I can tell, the vote was carried only by one.

Still - congratulations, after a long struggle.

[ AS - that's the second marriage proposal I've had this year. They say things come in 3's....perhaps another proposal when I visit Vienna - I might be whisked into a waltz of no return. Or - why not keep your hubby and we can share 8) ]

There I go being all pie in the sky again! I still can't believe any rational person would say what Imp did and mean it literally. LOL That's the true insanity of it...you know they can't possibly mean it...I mean...come on...it would take a idiot....but still...they seem to have convince themselves of the validity of their reasoning...as I truly believe that would be the basis for them casting a no vote! "We must keep the african american's from having to bake confederate flag cakes!" wtf?!

Buzz kill.

I know...it boggles the mind...doesn't it. Do you see what I am saying now...I mean if justices on the supreme court were divided...and there was only a majority of one...what does that tell you about the USA?! I aint kiddin around when I say I am incredulous at the bigotry and stupidity! I mean it's blatant in-your-face-we-are-not-all-equal-as-I-am-better-than-you-and-thus-more-deserving. And what's more...these are educated people! Doesn't it just blow your mind?! I wish I could just walk around with a camera on my head to show you what it's like day in and day out here. I have lived here all my life and I still am not used to it. Every day I walk around in a stupor...as if I was plucked off planet sanity and forced to live on planet bizarro, as a a side show marvel, "step right up and see the American liberal...be amazed...tell your friends!" Now THAT was hyperbole...lol.

No surprise there...everyone wants a piece of the M! :D
