I don't think we've ever thought much about it in this way before.
Here's a semirelated article:

Some corals might make it. We won't. Too many dependencies and too narrow a survival-zone. We'll jus go extinct and the next thing will come along.

Humans can certainly adapt to warmer climates, the question is will human civilization be able to adapt, or will the individual humans stubbornly cling to "the old ways" to their demise. This is happening in Africa where the desert is moving south and people are refusing to move from the land where they grew up.

That desert and people not moving also applies to the Southwest US, where, unlike the Africans, settlers chose to move. And in the future, the US will bully Canada into supplying our water for an increasingly drought-stricken region. Wars are always waged for resources, especially essential ones. And more wars will happen.
So yeah. We'll adapt. Mostly with violence.

Once they run out of water, adaptation stops. They'll be too busy squabbling over the last drops of oil, the last acre of arable land, last dollar, the last gallon of potable water to make the necessary changes to both their lifestyle and their living space. And of course, the only way they'll reduce the numbers to survivable levels is by the usual horsemen.
I realized this in 1976, didn't get too deeply invested in a human future and don't expect to be around for the big crunch, so I'm okay with it.

Yeah, I'm not going to work myself into a lather over it either.
