Monday is Memorial Day in the USA

This is the day we lament people who were conscripted (euphemism for slavery) into the military to get maimed or die for our so-called freedom, which also provides another excuse for us to barbecue in our backyards.

Happy Memorial Day!
It's also the unofficial beginning of summer. In Las Vegas it is unbearably hot. So hot, in fact, that I dread the summer. I white knuckle the whole time until Labor day (the unofficial end of Summer) although it is still friggin miserable until the middle of October usually.
This year we had a pleasant May so far...about 20 degrees cooler than usual.
