THE NEW CURRENCY

.
With the advent of this Third Industrial Revolution that we find ourselves in we face another NEW beginning.
We are witnessing a new, relative usable currency.
That is the currency of the social internet. It's REAL, it's growing by leaps & bounds, and this emerging new currency is becoming more established and valuable EVERY SINGLE DAY.
With the aggressiveness of pure capitalism throughout the industrialized world each of us has less & less of the traditional currency of rubles, pounds, dollars, pesos, yens and other recognized financial currencies we are quickly valuing another usable currency - the social currencies.
Whether it be LIKES on Facebook, CIRCLES on Google Plus, FOLLOWERS on Twitter, UPVOTES on Reddit, ASSOCIATES on LinkIn, or ANY NUMBER of other points of value upon other social sites.
This IS the NEW CURRENCY.
And in a world where food, clothing, & shelter are more readily available the NEW SOCIAL CURRENCY is what will emerge as the NEW VALUE.

This IS the NEW CURRENCY.
No, Bill, it isn't. You are hopelessly confused, as you have so often been in the past.

Well, you have stated a position.
That is a beginning to a rational discussion, which is why we are here at this SOCIAL FORUM.
Would you care to make an argument to your stated position based upon my original premise?

This NEW CURRENCY is what has captured the attention and curiosity of this new generation.
In my country, America, just 200 years ago we had native American Indians trading their land for horses, trinkets & rifles.
Only later on did the American Indians begin to understand the value of the metaphor money.
A NEW CURRENCY will transcend the usefulness of traditional dollars and other trading trinkets that are regionally accepted as common value.
We are now, as a nation, just beginning to understand the usefulness and value of these new social currencies.
Thank you for the support and the positive social currency for this particular philosophical thread and for ALL the positive social currencies that we all enjoy upon this site.

Therefore the new currency that you are talking could mean gaining reputation and good relationship towards people which is intangible thing. While traditional currency as you call it, trade or buy foods, clothes, etc which is tangible things.

We as a society are not there yet but soon... the new currency that I am referring to talking will mean gaining reputation and good relationships toward people which will be more of a tangible thing.
...with the advent of 3D printing food, clothing, & shelter will be more readily available and, in a way, less valuable.

You can't print food.
You should read Cory Doctorow's free e-book The Makers to understand how 3D printing is not likely to be the panacea you hope for.

Food can, is, & will be printed on 3D printers.
Cory Doctorow's e-book The Makers is free for only one reason...it's worthless.

You just don't read your own links do you? But I can understand your incomprehension as you are a Yank so 'food' is a mystery to you.
Cory Doctorow's e-book The Makers is free for only one reason...it's worthless..
LMAO! So much for your digital revolution? What a moron you are.
As usual you talk from ignorance as Cory Doctorow is a published author and his book is also published. It's that he, unlike you, is an actual contributor to the digital age and as such he releases his book for free as well, I have both copies.

Yes I read the links I use.
In addition, there are many more links in relation to 3D printed food.
3D printed food is not really an issue. It is a reality.
I have a deep passion for the evolving 3D printers - in all forms.
I read a lot and I stick with my assessment of the author and books you referenced from that author.

I, for one, hope Bill's post-scarcity utopia is just around the corner.
With plentiful energy (and essentially unlimited resources) it'll be easy for folks like me to get the hell offa this rock and away from folks like him (and most of you).
Space: it ain't the final frontier; it's liberty (from the insane).

As long as you have the food first of course.
I have a deep passion for the evolving 3D printers - in all forms.
Do you, ever used one?

Is this assessment based upon the same one you make of Philosophy Bill, i.e. never actually reading what you rush to decry?
Still funny as hell that you say a book is worthless as it is an e-book, so much for your digital revolution.

In a post-scarcity utopia, what reason will loons like Bill (particularly those in positions of elected/appointed power) come up with to keep folks like me 'here'?
I know the answer and so does Bill (it's the reason why we haven't gone back to the moon, why we'll never go to mars and why there'll never be a post-scarcity utopia).
