Yes is the answer here to your very insightful question. The local effects of the ego still effect the spirit after death. This is the true meaning of the lashes as punishment. The egos presents has a local effect inside the nonlocality and to the degree of ego presents that is the degree of hell expirienced by an individual soul this is the meaning of lashes.Heaven is pure nonlocality or certainty. Ego equals suffering in location or in nonlocation you have to pay back every penny piece for the suffering your ego causes. But forgive and you will be forgiven. But im sure you know that already. If you are given much there is much expected of you in good works so you have to fight the ego more.
