What is human (i.e. homo sapiens) nature?

The term, nature, is so broad and vague that I think it renders the question a nonquestion. You may may hold a difference of opinion and, if so, we would like to know your thoughts.

Going on what's seen, heard, experienced. I'd say to reach immortality. Everything we do and strive for. Is a form of immortality.
