What people believe becomes clearly evident from what people do, not from what they say. It is not uncommon for people to behave with different ideas, goals and values in mind then the ones they say they adhere to.
Why am I writing this; only as an introduction to the thesis that "verbal philosophy", the product of people yabbering on about this and that, needs to be sharply differentiated from "doing philosophy", and where the verbal philosophy is at odds with the doing philosophy of a person, their verbal philosophy needs to be flushed down the drain. Now, of course, in a situation like this one, where we only know the words of another, and not their deeds, we have a difficulty. Still, reading between the lines can reveal much that is unspoken, so all is not lost.
