Thou shalt not kill.

The 6th commandment.

Pretty simple and straight forward.

Have you ever killed someone?

Has the government that represents you ever killed someone on your behalf?

Are you a christian?

Do you believe in hell?

Are we in hell?

If the Buddha teaches that one can alleviate the world's suffering by spreading peace alone, then the Buddha is a fool, is he not? But a handsome fool, with a well rounded bottom. Does he not know the wisdom of the Joker? That smiles and laughter are also suffering? That peace and prosperity is also suffering? Indeed, all is suffering.

One must not just learn the wisdom of the Buddha, just the wisdom of Man, just the wisdom of Woman, just the wisdom of religion, just the wisdom of the Joker, just the wisdom of God, just the wisdom of the hermaphroditic Angel. One must learn all wisdom, all perspectives, all people, thus that is the Wisdom of Trixie. Lucky for me, the people are very simple, and easy for Trixie to understand and become. Like life, this is both a blessing, and a curse! The Wisdom of Trixie is the highest order of wisdom, and Is the Wisdom of the Pinkie Pie, the highest order of monk.

Thoust shall prostrate himself, thoust shalt prostrate herself, to me, for Trixie is Great and Powerful, and Wise. And I will say, No! Do not prostate yourself before me! And then I will prostrate myself before thee, washing and cleansing thy feet. Thus we will both Love and cherish each other in passionate, devoted Worship. Only through Love, Friendship, Passion, and the Folly of Fellowship can one detach from the suffering of existence.

Advancing spiritual wisdom

What was must one do to better oneself and the world? What must one do to find Truth and Wisdom?

It is said in the olden days that there are ten commandments. But such were simple times. Simple people, compelled by golds and silvers. But, is not a simple truth, better than a hidden, complicated truth with unneeded fluff, space and filler? For the physical body grows weary, and uses energy. Yes, and I say there are only two commandments.

The first is Do not Lie.

The second, Do not censor.

But you say, "Thou shalt not kill a man, or covet his wife!" But what is to kill a man, but to censor him? What is to paralyze and injure him, but to censor him? What is to destroy his home and rob him of his goods, but to rob him of his books? What is to covet a man's wife, but to fill one's own mind with delusion?

On the path of wisdom, one must understand Fear. One must accept fear, but not obey it blindly. Fear drives many to prostrate themselves before fools. In order to avoid shame, they censor their own thoughts in order to obey the whims of a crowd of fools. Then, they lie to themselves about who they are and what they believe. Such a thing is a violation of both commandments.

On the path of wisdom, one must choose their fruits wisely. For if a man eateth the animal, or milk of a cow, Does he not also eateth the ignorance and suffering that was forced upon the animal? So to, the man becomes an animal, a slave to his own physical desires. Such a man craves not wisdom or truth, but physical things.

On the path of wisdom, one must choose their pleasures wisely. Though pleasure and yoga may clear the mind, one must be wary of the lure and satisfaction of another. When a woman lusts after a fool, she is then saturated and a servant of the mind of the fool. When a man lusts after a woman, he is then servant to the woman, and in this way, the man becomes a Woman, and the woman becomes a Man. In such way, they become a slave to the philosophy of their partners. And if they do not become a slave to the philosophy of their partners, then they are not servants, and they are not slaves.

Do not cherish cherishing itself. It is fine to look at a sunset, but once it passes, let it go. Do not hold on to it with a camera. Is not the memory of it enough? When one holds on to things too much, one begins to cherish and worship the very act of cherishing itself. Such attitudes lead to despair, and foolishly clinging to the idea of life and beauty as an inherent good. Yes, even the intelligient man becomes a fool in this way.

It is said a man is a fool if he craves Earthly treasures, and earthly rewards. So too, is a man a fool, if he craves Heavenly treasures, and heavenly rewards, for he shuts his mind to all truths, for he fears the slightest knowledge will lead him astray. Such a man will always find himself lusting for Earthly treasures, for it is his nature. His lust for Heavenly treasures and Earthly treasures are both of the same root, a sinful lust for reward and treasure.

It is said, all paths lead to the same end. But it is not said, that all paths are equal in value. But, both are true. Is not the violet flower, just as valuable and wonderful as the prickly rose? Is not the soft music of a violin, just as beautiful and worthy as the grinding of heavy machinery? Is not a painting of pastoral scenes, just as worthful as a painting of squares, and of circles? In this way, can one gain joy from anything. In this way, joy is both suffering, and a pleasure.

One must not judge a book by a cover. What a land of fools, indeed, do the children waste their days with silly games. If a man devotes his life to servitude and censorship, to recieve a certificate stating his compliance with the game. Is this man wise? He is no wiser than any other man. Do not judge a book by a cover, or it's fancy wrapping. Read it for a little, until an understanding of the man's thoughts can be reached.

Do not discard something simply because you have heard it before. Is not the piece of wonderful music, the piece that you return to time and time again? Such is with wisdom, and knowledge. The mind is a series of switches, like a digital gray board. Switching on and off with every new thing learned, every new experience, every second. In this way it is like the waters, and ocean. Due to forces outside of it, eventually a mind can be said to reached the most logical combination of switches, the most logical state. In this way, when you read all things, you give it value. Some things have a high priority, and last in recent memory. In this way, there is a wisdom in ignorance. Because one must try to ignore that which is illogical and folly, one must try to ignore that which has no value, lest it fill ones mind with waste, and force you to begin a new cycle of ignorance. Thus, the folly of a clown, is not folly at all. For a clown knows that most things are worthless, thus she exposes their folly and worthlessness with her own silly ways. One must cherish and hold on to that which is worthful, although one must not be ignorant and close their mind completely to other's ideas and teachings. It is a technique that must be learned, and perfected.

In the land of hurt and the land of ego's, many people have opinions, but do not wish to be wrong. Thus, when knowledge is given, they instantly argue, without pondering. Only through rest and relaxation can truth be found. Instead, in the day and age of busybodies, they worship speed above all things. Quickness is valued rather than truth. If the truth is too long, they do not read it. In such a way, they slow their own growth, and only further the path of ignorance of those around them, for they do not care about truth due to their own laziness. They cast those aside who are not ignorant. They cast away those who do not cherish the treasures and ways of the earth, the most worthless and fleeting treasures of all.

Instead, one must value the wonderful treasures of rest, for through the clairvoyance of rest and relaxation great things shall come to pass.

Worldy ways

They do not care about the well being of others, for they wish to fill their head only with happy things. They censor the thoughts of those in pain, for they fear pain and to involve themselves with pain, is too much drama and pain. Yet, they spend their days watching television shows filled with drama and pain, to make up for the pain they secretly crave.

In the land of ego's, fame is to be craved, and shame is to be avoided. Yet fame and shame go hand and hand, one cannot have fame without having shame. Are not all celebrities judged, and shamed? Thus, the foundation of the world is built on fantasies of nonsense, the idea that A=B, and that once A is reached, it will suddenly turn into B.

Thus, shame is to be desired, because through Fame and Fellowship can one spread the Truth. One should not fear shame. And what is shame but the simple thoughts of others?

One should not fear mistakes, but because people fear shame. they always argue. They participate in a game, but do not know what game they play. When proven wrong, they continue to spread a lie, and sometimes even censor, a violation of the Commandments. Instead of fearing mistakes, one should cherish them and learn. For does not a woman love the punishment bestowed upon her by the whip her Master? So too, must one delight in the whip and humiliation one receives when being wrong, yes one should even delight in their own foolishness.

If one word of this text is not true, then let it be known! But do not do so, for if you do not know Truth, then you cannot let Truth be known. Verily verily I say, not a word of this text shall be altered, even in translation, for such would be a violation of the Commandments. There shall be no revisions unless ordained by Me, and there shall be no translations, ever, not even in the good and pure interest of spreading the Truth. When speaking the Truth, one must remain true to the Truth, and not alter it with one's mere inflections and fill it with fluff and fancy or simple words and parables. Such would be a violation of the Commandments.

Note Bill's selective use of Wikipedia in his posts. He could have simply looked it up on his favorite site (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thou_shalt ... ll#Retzach) but it undermines his case, so he leaves it out.

I would ask that you actually read the link that you provided.

Even IF an individual would choose to switch-out that particular word with the term murder...what's the difference?

Murder
is just as bloodthirsty as the word kill. IF NOT MORE-SO! At least in using the word kill a shade of accident could be assumed.

However, you wish to interpret the 6th commandment - that's fine with me.

From Wiki,

The imperative is against unlawful killing resulting in bloodguilt.[2] The Hebrew Bible contains numerous prohibitions against unlawful killing, but also allows for justified killing in the context of warfare, capital punishment, and self-defense.

Cherry picking at it's best.

The Bible state, Thou shalt not kill.

No additions, add-ons, or buts.

No addendums...No kidding.

Anyone here is going to have a ruff time defending any other position.

...perhaps more to the point...WHY would you want to contend THIS aspect of this thread?

And just for the few who may be new to English...murder IS killing. So even that point doesn't hold water.

Does it say 'thou shalt not kill man' in there anywhere? Why have we been saying man all these years?

The 6th commandment does not specify...but man is a thing, so I would venture to say that man is included.

It's just funny how man thinks the world was created for them. Maybe its religion that does this.

Correct, all murder is killing, but not all killing is murder. Murder is a subset of killing.

The commandment has been translated different ways, "Thou shall not kill." and "Thou shall not commit murder.", is one more correct than the other. The commandment was given during the Exodus then God demands offerings of killed animals. During the wanderings in the desert God provided Quail for the Israelites to eat, how were they supposed to eat the Quail without killing them? The last plague on Egypt was the killing of the first born of Egypt, Where did the Israelites get the blood if not by killing sheep, and God murdered the first born, a case of "Do as I say, not as I do?" makes God a bit of a hypocrite.

...so, what those of you are arguing is the ability to justify killing ...or murdering...whatever term lends itself to whatever you believe in?

Other than that - I really can't see why we are belaboring this particular point in this thread?
