Hi everyone I'm new to this forum.

Hi, I am interested, in dualism, body and soul separation, and 'the mind'. Did a two year module in philosophy at Hull University in the late 1980s. Also interested in the paranormal.

Hello Virginia, welcome to PN. The big cheese at the moment in dualism is a guy called David Chalmers, who coincidently has the same haircut as the great dualist Rene Descartes.
There are one or two nutjobs in this place, but by and large we're a fairly benign bunch and some of the people really know what they are talking about. Ginkgo's your man for dualism.

Actually, he used to but he recently cut most it off and now has a short-back-and-sides.
So far as I know, he hasn't trimmed his ontology to match.

Well, to be fair, Descartes doesn't have quite the head of hair he used to either.
