Is sales manipulative?

I've heard it both ways. My answer is no. I don't believe you can make anybody buy something against his/her will.

Of course I considered that situation. Forcing someone to do something under duress isn't what I would call free will either, along with lying and deception. But let's not be silly; that would never happen.
Or maybe you're talking about advertisement. You're right. It doesn't make anyone buy against their will. They really, really want your product after you tell them about how it will make them popular, sexy, moral, intelligent, and less of a loser.
