It depends on what you call English, certainly not Shakespeare's English, but modern English is fluid and ever changing, you can't fix it and define it to one set of rules. It used to grate my nerves when my son said 'funner' rather than 'more fun' but I just let it go and didn't try to correct him. You do speak English, a language that is changing and evolving all the time, anyone who say's otherwise has their head in the sand and can't see reality.

What is language if it is not the desire to be understood by someone at least?

People (Americans) don't understand the difference between the evolution of language, and the bastardisation of language.

True enough, I understood what he meant, I just didn't like the way he said it. It seemed to me that there was a better way, (better as in, more clear).
