The author fails to mention philosophy in the Middle Ages in his otherwise useful article.

Last night I remembered a statement about ignorance of the Middle Ages by the late Ralph McInerny. He wrote "After Gilson [Etienne Gilson], ignorance of the Middle Ages is culpable."
