Do you feel you were born in a non-advanced age?

I was thinking about the 1910's and how backwards it looks. I think that in 2100, people will look at us and think that we really lived deprived of many technological advances that would have made our life better.

Only the last generation with measurable progress prior to either a perpetual decline or human extinction will escape that retrospective opinion. [This not counting any posthuman slash upper toposophic civilizations as a continuation of what we baselines began.] Of course, there are many areas to quibble about when it comes to such sweeping evaluations of one era being technologically better off than a previous one. My neighbor's freezer recently went belly-up after its expected 8-10 years of service, whereas I inherited one some time ago that has been running continuously without problems for 40 years [and the latter was even considered a cheapo brand back then].

Guys, do you ever feel screwed that we won't have access to things like teleportation? I think that it is most likely the most possible technology coming up.

Would be nice. I hate commuting and travelling. Too bad if the teleporter screws up when you're in the middle of the teleportation. Where do you end up then?

No I feel I am born in an age where for the most part people haven't really learned from the past. It's a modern age, it's very different it's very advanced. But I don't think most have learnt about history. It's advanced technologically hence, but socially still backward.

I feel I live in an age which is not as culturally advanced as when I was born.

For sure, there are things where there are room for improvements.
I can imagine living in a world where energy is no issue, and even more where transportation is something better than commuting to work for hours.
But I guess the feeling for the present in terms of being "new" will not differ too much. Kind of interesting for guys like me now, who has been around for a while, to try to remember what it was like when Casette tape recorders, Colour-TV, Sony Walkman, Credit Cards and WWW were new and flashy things.
I do remember standing in line in the Post Office to pay my monthly bills, that "here it is a room for improvements".
