What's the Difference Between the Narration in Your Head, that you ALWAYS obey, and the voices that schizophrenics hear?
.............................................
Are you able to accept that you are, to a degree, paranoid schizophrenic?

Bill,
When I talk to myself, it's 'me' talkin' to 'me'.
When the schizophrenic hears voices, he or she only hears him- or her-self, but ascribes the voice to someone (or -thing) else.
In my case: I merely overtly do what I do all the time, which is reflect back on myself.
The schizophrenic is, well, 'schizo'.
Surely, you can see the difference, yes?

Yes, I see your point and it's a good one.
The fact remains - voices.
Voices. Voices that you listen to. Voices that are not only real to you but THEY ARE YOU.
YOU ascribe yourself to those voices. They are you. You hear them.
I don't know if you have ever heard voices that become outside of you but THEY SOUND MORE REAL THAN REAL.
You actually HEAR them seemingly through your ears.

It's your thread: explain yourself (or not).

I can explain myself but you would not understand. As you do not understand what I have said so far.
No disrespect but I can't force someone understand. Understanding is inside of you.
To try to pull you along would only confuse this thread with so many words.
You will never understand. Please just move on.

The difference is exactly that, narration. If you are hearing the voice or voices in your head as a narration then its probable that you are schizophrenic, whether you are paranoid about it would depend upon the tone, timbre and content I'd guess. Of course its not necessarily the case as authors and such like do have voices not 'like' their own in their heads, i.e their characters 'speak' to them but even in this case the author recognises them as constructs of their imaginative sub-conscious, to mistake them as truly being an other is what makes the difference between the sane and insane.
If this is the case with you Bill then I'll have to add PS to your NPD.

No, you're kind-of missing the point.
What I am saying is - ALL OF US have a narration in our head. We follow it. We actually call it ourselves. Which you have done in the above post of yours.
We may all be crazy to a degree for I don't see a whole lot of difference between following voices. WE STILL ARE FOLLOWING VOICES.

No, I think it you who misses the point. Try it this way, what or who is the 'it' that is being led?
If you think the voice in your head is other than the verbalisation of ones thought then you are doing it wrong or you may be schizophrenic or heading that way, seek help before it goes to far.

So, are you saying that you DO NOT have an inner narration?
Some people, I have heard, are like a slot machine. Just immediately reacting to surroundings. Not actually thinking or separating self from surroundings. That sounds strange to me.

No Bill, I have verbalised thoughts, no 'narrator' chatting to me as an other, just my thoughts being verbalised when I wish.

Slot machines don't react to surroundings. Tell me what you think thinking is?

You appear to have great trouble answering questions?
Is this because your narrator wishes it so?
