No doubt You've seen Agent Smith wax lyrical on the human condition, and if a little machine like and missing some finer points, he does make a good case.

OF course in sheer terms of success by any measurable standard the bacteria win hands down, but they are not viruses and hence parasites, in fact almost all of them are benign and pose no threat to life, and those that do perhaps keep life in balance making it evolve.
