Trust Those That Seek the Truth...

...doubt those that say they've found it.

Truth isn't found in a book.

Truth isn't an experience of some thing outside of the body.

Truth is within.

Truth is experienced within a moment,

...if you turn yourself inside-out AND, you are extremely lucky.

A moment that becomes eternity.

Hang on!?

Is this you saying you've found it?

Perhaps, don't hang on...

Let go.

This was an ego using words to contain something that cannot be contained...

A continuous flow.

You don't find it.

You experience it. In various degrees.

Then you leave...without a trace. Nothing is changed. Yet everything has changed.

Truth is nothing but change.

...doubt those that say they've found it.

So you have found it, if just for a moment that lasts an eternity.

Experience.

...can't even say I experienced because ALL of my egos seemed to be needed to be overcome in a way; disciplined & made quiet before experience happened...This is all so very crude with words...

Truth. I saw a greater, wordless truth for a moment. A moment that forever since I will never be able to put into words. It was a different dimension.

The perception of time was totally different than the way we experience time.

I've spoken to you before. If you haven't experienced it there is no way I can describe it to you.

...if you have experienced it you know that there is no way to describe it.

...which is kind-of a perfect segue to the entirety of this thread.

From the sounds of it you can get pretty much the same effect from LSD.

But basically you are someone who says they found this 'Truth', lost it and are forever seeking it again. So I should doubt you.

You can generally Trust Those That Seek the Truth to be conspiracy nuts or blithering idiots.

A specific truth, OTOH, involves what has been turned into a description / statement and procedurally verified or has been historically / uncritically accepted by a majority or smaller group. IOW, it's quite likely to be found in a book or text.

A general usage of the word "truth" may refer to either overall conformity to a particular system / standard which humans have invented / developed or just the overall commonsense interpretation of the reality encountered in sensation. The latter marred by occasional instability, of potentially varying (usually trivially) according to personal experiences or even cultural background.

What you seem to be referring to is some sort of raw, private revelation - immediate apprehension rather than falling out of extended reflective thought or research - that has not been converted yet to a communicated conception, treatise, or linguistic understanding.

Ideally, any "grand truism" referencing something beyond the verification methods that feed scholarly, skilled, governmental authority / formal conventions and everyday, functional folk traditions can never have sufficient evidence for itself (in the limitations of this natural life). Apart from an arguing for it as necessary (since the option of just "practical / useful for ___" is an admission of dodging claims of its essential universality or being an exalted truth). In actuality, however, supersensible "purely intellectual apprehensions" have over the ages wormed their way into the established organizations of "facts" / common acceptances. As well as infiltrations by those private, non-reasoned epiphanies you mention, which eventually got around to being described to others and attached with indirect significances.

There are truths that are universal, absolute, all that was before man, gave rise to man, and shall be after man; the universe and it's physics!

Then there are mans truths, largely a subjective experience, a plethora of truths, usually of self serving nature, quite possibly as many as there are people, composed of an ever varying combination of beliefs, comprising each individual whole.
Though there are also absolute/universal truths as to man, though only being able to be seen from the universe's perspective, and many fear/are incapable of sensing it, as it's all inclusive of what it is in being a man, including many things one fears to admit. The truth of all men, all their fears/rationalizations abated, looking honestly into the mirror, seeing all that we are, from every possible perspective, the total psychology of man.

Bill I think if I can answer your OP and agree with you at the same time, if you have found the truth, you probably haven't looked that hard and only found your own truth. Mind you truth has been good enough for thousands of years for most people, religion shows that much. It's just a fickle truth if there are 1001 different religions, that all are more more true dependant on where you were born, what you were taught to believe and hence you believe it; it's a big old world and who's to say religions are right or wrong; and hence that doesn't make your religion wrong of course, but it doesn't make it right either by force of numbers, will or conquest over the global sphere. Truth is something, I am not sure there is any point in claiming there is an absolute one. Although if you do, then fair enough, but I think it's not going to last...

Trust no 1.
