Well only on nature reserves were rangers regularly hunt down and arrest or shoot poachers, if they are off the piste so to speak they have to hope that the poachers are crap shots.

Elephant ivory is a diminishing trade though so they must be having some success.

yes well we have to speak up for the jumbos.greedy ignorant people wouldnt care if they became extinct.

There's no real danger of that any more, although at one time...

Incidentally Jumbo is Swahili for elephant, nerd fact. ;)
