Imagine a large hill made out of human beings...all actively fighting to climb to the top.

The individual who momentarily reaches the top is the narration that we experience upon our consciousness at that moment.

The only way to really overcome the myriad of egos that we identify with is to detach ourselves, to a degree, and observe them. As from an aerial shot.

This struggle of egos is evident even here
, at the Philosophy Now Forums.

We can witness individual egos attack, what they perceive, as the other egos that are keeping their ego from attaining the ever-elusive top of the stack.

You seem to think there is a problem with ego, I disagree such things make us human and thus make us question each other in terms that we might understand, the overcoming of ego is of course important, we learn that way, but you seem to think egos are a problem and I am not sure I follow why or your point. So I will ask directly: why is the ego or any persons ego so iniquitable to you personally that you need to post a thread about how we need to solve this issue? For me personally it is a non issue everyone is an ego, has opinions, thinks they are right, wont accept they are wrong and so on; I see this as strength though not as a weakness..?

Egos are keeping who from attaining what now? Who cares, we are what we are, it's facile to moan about human nature and post pointless gifs about how bad human nature is, I am sure one day we will all be perfect, but vivre le difference until then. ;)

Yeah let's all be Buddhists detach ourselves from the chains that bind and just float around on our respective clouds. Sure that's going to help the world. ;)

It seems to me a lot of people have very large expectations of what are a very primitive conscious entity, but I think in time something will happen whereby we are no longer idiots. Not in my lifetime obviously but I do hope it will happen within the sum of human existence. ;)
