It is a pleasure to see this forum ingrain higher standards into this site.

I applaud
the growing number of PhilosophyNow members who have taken the higher, more complete road in your philosophical development by including images and GIFs into your posts.

As a growing number of us are beginning to understand, Images speak directly to our brains in a way pure literal thought cannot.

The brilliant Julian Jaynes contends that metaphors in the form of images actually drive and expand literal understanding and the eventual development of language.

In other words, images drive the development of words and our most complete understanding as self-conscious human beings.

I think all members who have used GIFs and images here at PhilosophyNow will agree, once you use a few of these right-brain philosophy enhances within this forum, you inevitably feel as if you sit in the crow's nest as far as other member's perspective within the spear of philosophy.

We will all eventually be using more images and less words here at the greatest philosophy forum on the planet, PhilosophyNow forums.

Enjoy, and I look forward to seeing a growing number of us break-out of our clearly self-imposed limitations!

How would you know this as you've not give the power of thought much effort?
The brilliant Julian Jaynes contends that metaphors in the form of images actually drive and expand literal understanding and the eventual development of language.
But what then? What I mean is what do you do after you develop language, you think. But according to you we should stop doing this.
In other words, images drive the development of words and our most complete understanding as self-conscious human beings.
No, not in other words. This is you adding your quest for some hippy-'eastern' dream quest that your gnu gave you.

You have no clue what western/anglo-american/continental philosophy has said and pay no attention to it when it is explained to you. Given the grammar and spelling in the above I think you should be using your images to improve your development of words before you start spouting-on about your lofty viewpoint.
We will all eventually be using more images and less words here at the greatest philosophy forum on the planet, PhilosophyNow forums.
No, we won't but if we do then we'll be nothing more than imgur, tumblr, wastebook, et al and more like a dip-shit new-age site, which is pretty much what you wish, as you're hoping to be an interweeb gnu, hence all the exhortions to stop thinking and intellectualising as these are anathema to the budding gnu.
Enjoy, and I look forward to seeing a growing number of us break-out of our clearly self-imposed limitations!
It's only a limitation to those who apparently haven't been exposed to enough image metaphors to develop their use of words. Books and words have changed the world more than a million pictures ever have. If enough like you get your way the 'West' is going to be a footnote and our children work-fodder for the rest of the world as they are going hell-for-leather for education and the intellect.
p.s.
What makes it worse is that you may have a point but completely miss it, as the creation of images may well be of use to thought but you don't create anything, you just plagiarise others creativity in the misguided thought that you are thinking and being creative.

I believe what makes it better is that I have a concept, an overall view, that I am, at times, completely immersed in.

You are correct in stating, I don't create anything.

Buy perhaps this puts me a half step above you. Our words. Neither you or I have created them. Nor our syntax. I am able to perceive this even as I type this sentence.

In the same way I weave other peoples words together I weave other peoples images together. There is no difference.

Oh. By the way, your use of emoticons or smilies has not gone unnoticed. I see you use them when you really want to secure a point.

I've kind-of taken you under my wing the past few years. I know you are trying. You are doing fine.

You are like many now-a-days and that includes prime ministers as you believe that because you know you believe you think it true, it's not.

It's a fair point but the difference is that words are our commonweal and our finest means of communication as unlike pictures a conversation occurs to clarify meaning.

FYI - Maybe your font of all wisdom will help you

But that is not what you do is it. On the whole what you do is read something, check your feelings and then search for an image to express them, in effect you use your images as emoticons.

If you were to truly weave your images together I think you could find a use for them, as an insight into your subconscious. So I think you should gather them together and take a good look at what it is saying, as on the whole they are about big breasts, animal genitalia and sex acts, alcohol and violence to others, or maybe even post them on a psych site and see what they say about them.
Oh. By the way, your use of emoticons or smilies has not gone unnoticed. I see you use them when you really want to secure a point.
Nope, I use them to express an emotion, the clue is in the name.
I've kind-of taken you under my wing the past few years. I know you are trying. You are doing fine.
Please, spare me. It's bad enough reading your delusions let alone being the subject of them.

You certainly have a right to you own opinion. If your opinion is expressed exclusively literally, I have no problem with that.

Good luck in all you do.
