..........................................................................................................
From wikipedia:
The Nicolaitanes are merely an anagrammatical symbol for the struggle between good and evil as represented by the Ouzo Cross in "The Ouzo Prophecy". The "e" in the word "Nicolaitanes" has flashed on and off in the historical KJV editing of the book of Revelation, a beacon to its allegorical meaning. RME
It appears from the Biblical text that the doctrine of the Nicolaitans was well understood to the audience of the day, but that understanding has simply been lost to us today.
From samplings of web and paper literature, two main lines of reasoning are pursued to try to rediscover what that doctrine is.
It looks like the most common approach is to appeal to the etymology of the word, almost without regard to historical writings on the subject. The other approach is to appeal to the early church fathers. The article as it currently stands (2006-11-28) has an unclear mish-mash of both.
.................................................................................................
The ancient doctrine of the Nicolaitans seems to express a struggle between good and evil.
I propose that if there is a defined good there must be, by that particular extruded definition, a defined evil:. In order for evil to exist there MUST be a good.
If this is the essence of doctrine of the Nicolaitans, this seems rudimentary true yet sophomoric.

Bait for Bob, I assume?
It would be nice to have actual accounts of all things ancient, as I'm sure they could lend light to this day. But for mans destructive nature, due to his fears, it would seem much has been lost, the greatest being the library at Alexandria.
Rest well, Hypatia!

There are two words original to the book of Revelation, Nicolaitanes and Armageddon. The "Nicolaitanes," of whom Christ said he hates the deeds and doctrine, is an anagram for "O satanic line," a reference to the beast line of the Ouzo Cross. "Armageddon," the location of the final battle between good and evil, is an anagram for "Dame Dragon," a generalized personification of evil, similar to other generalized personifications like Lady Luck and Mother Nature. Anagrams are related to gematria in that both are number/letter codes, anagrams being based on ordinal numbers, and gematria on cardinal numbers. Now I ask you, O my brothers in tribulation, where could you possibly get this kind of information except from a prophet, in this case, Bob the Baptist, the new guru, the modern messiah, and the wizard of Ouzo.

Okay, here's the thing.
You should read my original post upon this thread.
I have heard TIME & TIME AGAIN the name of the evident prophecy.
I DON'T NEED TO HEAR THAT AGAIN.
I DON'T EVER NEED TO HEAR THAT AGAIN.
NOT EVER. EVER AGAIN.
I'm soooo sick of that name.
What I am asking, if you can even provide the answer, what BEYOND the sophomoric representation of the struggle between good and evil is contained within this doctrine that you have totally trashed within this forum?
WHAT ELSE IS THERE?
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE of SUBSTANCE within that doctrine that we need to know?
-...because again, I AM SOOOOO SICK OF HEARING THAT NAME.
Please just give me some information NOT ANY NAMES - NOT any title that you have bestowed upon yourself. Just information...
Why do you like this?

OKay. Alright. So what you are saying is the reason that you do not actually believe in that prophacy is because there really isn't anything there.
If there was something to it, you would have run for a political office. If there was something to it, you would have explained more about it within this thread and others. You didn't.
..................................................................................
Good-bye. I am looking at you right in the face. MOVE-ON! Something else...ANYTHING ELSE!
