"Goo to you"

"goo to you"
It is a facetious, slightly derogatory attack on evolution. A rhetorical device referring to the crazy idea that water pools of the pre-cambrian containing unicellular bacteria were "goo". "You" means the immense complexity of the human body and the human brain. "Surely this Goo-to-You story is absurd. Look at me -- I am not goo!"

For men reading this: Right now, as you sit here reading this post... right now as you type your creationist response, your testicles are forming sperm cells. During this process, there are chains of nucleic acids being copied in a process called Template Replication. There is an enzyme used during this process called a DNA polymerase.
The chains of nucleobases are exactly the same molecules as those found in green mold found growing on bread. Within the cells of that green mold, precisely the same molecules are being replicated with Template Replication and a polymerase enzyme. Even the mold growing on your bread in the kitchen, contains these exact molecules. And it is doing exactly the same things with them. It is splitting them using an enzyme and then making copies of them via template replication. Exactly the same molecules as in the testicles of a human male. Exactly the same molecules down to the atom. The mold is doing exactly the same process on these nucleic acid chains as the process inside you. The nucleic acid chains are contained in the nucleus of the cells, and they are being replicated and rejoined precisely as the humans cells do.
An honest, rational person must take pause. Every insect, deer, rabbit, bear, bird, fish, fungus, and tree ---- all contain chains of these molecules. All of those organisms are making copies of these molecular chains using Template Replication and a polymerase enzyme. Every earthworm is doing this. Every fungus under every mushroom. Every flower. Every moth. Every wolf and dog. Every spider and whale, and every single blade of grass. Every blade of grass on the golf course is replicating chains of these nucleotide bases.
Ontologically, you contain exactly the same molecules as the mold on bread. The only qualitative difference is the order in which the four bases come in the chain. Your A's, G's, C's, and T's are in a vastly different configuration than the mold's are. But that is the only difference.
TAKE PAUSE ALL CREATIONISTS !!
---> The mold on your bread is doing exactly the same process, with exactly the same molecules, as those found in your ovaries. The mold on your bread is doing exactly the same process, with exactly the same molecules, as those found in your testicles. It is certain that in the future you will encounter the phrase "goo to you". You will find it among the creationist blogosphere, or in a creationist book, or on a creationist website. When you encounter "goo to you", remember what you have read here. Think about it. Remember it. Take pause and ponder this.
2,800,000,000 years ago, the only life on earth was bacteria sloshing about in the waters. Did they contain the nucleotide base molecules? Yes they did. Were they replicating chains of those? Yes they were. How different are we from black mold, really?
