If I can serve as a model for you...a noble, philosophical symbol for you, see me as the brother in arms who was willing to take the grief, and the fellow member who urged you to trust your fellow members and welcomed visitors here at the Philosophy Now Forums.
This is a philosophy forum Bill, as such many who visit here bear ill wishes, philosophically speaking. That, in the past, you've supported them makes you far from this philosophical symbol that you delude yourself to be and a long way from being my brother-in-arms.
See me as the fellow member who urged you to increase your enjoyment of the miracle of the internet by adding speakers or headphones to you enjoyment of the miracle of this new technology we call computing!
Since I've been in Computing since before the PC was invented I'll stick to my own judgement of what I find efficacious to my enjoyment of this technology thanks.
See me as the fellow wise member who encourages you and other members here to be brave enough to use their legal name in all of their pos tings here and in other sites at the internet. There are so many rewarding reasons that make sense to do this. I've stated this argument somewhere here before.
Nah! Bill. As when you actually do something that effects people on the Weeb you will find it a chore to have to change your details because of those who don't like it. Best to use your real name in the real world where real things are done, not the virt world where fantasies abound. As I told you before, its fine if you don't think you'll ever work again but the first thing employers do now is goggle. Its what I teach my kids and they are continually shocked that what they think is 'private' is not treated as such if its on the Weeb.
See me as the herald of the coming good.
I understand you to be as delusional as boob is.
See me as the Socratic philosophical force that urges you to turn your eyes away from the shadows upon the wall of the cave that ultimately frighten you and cause you misunderstand the force of inherent good.
I think what little you describe of your way is effectively an American closed-shop union.
You do understand that Socrates encouraged dialogue, i.e. question and answer, don't you?
I will tell you fear & hate are two sides of the same coin.
As I've asked you before, this makes this coin what?
I welcome you brother.
You can leave your fear right here.
Save your psycho-babble for yourself, you need it.
I was raised a Buddhist and as such I understand what I can or cannot change and have the serenity not to bother others when it slips, unless they be my long-suffering friends that is.
If you wish me to be welcome try thinking about discussing and examining your thoughts through philosophical critique as you are on a philosophy forum after all.
