Ukraine winning the war is a fantasy, the world should remember the debt it owes to Russia and the Russian people in saving the world from that monster Nazi war machine. You and I owe our liberty to those terrible Russians who saved all our asses during World War two. Granted the American war machine today is even grander; but do you really think you're going to get Russia and its people to bow down before this American aggression? Dream on, America today makes the Nazis and their war machine look like boy scouts, American deals in death globally and at least half the world's population is painfully aware of this. Don't be as blind as many a German was in nineteen thirty-nine or you will be responsible for the crimes against humanity that American the beautiful commits. What a price the Russians paid for freedom, theirs as well as yours, America lost half a million men in that war, and Russia lost twenty-seven million, show some fucking respect!!

Dear philosophers, please read the brief interview below from lifelong US political activist and dissident Noam Chomsky. Is the US pursuing an antiquated foreign policy based on Cold War strategy and concerns? Should we leave Ukraine a neutral country? After what happened to Russia in two world wars in the previous century is Russia "justified" in feeling threatened by Ukraine potentially joining NATO? Should we allow Russia/Putin to have some breathing room as it were--by making Ukraine a neutral state--so that Russia doesn't feel threatened from the West? Is it OK to make concessions to avoid stoking the flames of a potential conflict between two nuclear-armed states?

What are your thoughts?
West, east, my profit, your profit,... I am tired of all this. One state, wealth distributed equally, free education, man/woman equal,... all problems are solved.

Remember the battle of KURSK, the greatest tank battle in all of history, after which, the Russians chased the German Nazis all the way back to Berlin Germany; and kick their asses there, essentially winning World War two.

We got what we deserved for attacking Iraq, Afghanistan et al. Now Putin's Russia is getting what it deserves for attacking Ukraine.

THE UKRAINE IS AN AMERICAN PUPPET!! All the bad people of the world who don't like America, at least half the world's population, are bad because they don't want to be puppets--go figure, they are just bad to the bone. Europe is America's whore!! They have already lost their sovereignty and are owned and operated by America the brave, the shining beacon on the hill.

"THE UKRAINE IS AN AMERICAN PUPPET!!"
so what? the russian working class soldiers conscripted to fight and die for putin are russian puppets, plus i don't recognize states or nations so the whole 'our country vs your country', to me, is nonsense. Spooks, man. there's only the bourgeois, petite bourgeois and proletarian classes battling for control over property and territory. u can call em spanish or taiwanese, duddint matter.
today, one is either a tyrant (bourgeois) or a slave (proletariat), as your boy novatore put it.
and when you call 'america' the puppet master, remember that America's working classes don't want any of this shit that's happening.... so certainly couldn't be a part of any puppeteering. .

You are extremely naive. The American people are programed to move in paths directed by the power elite, the corporations run the show and the corporations own you and their war machine and the world suffers the consequences.

Russia makes puppets too. Look at Eastern Europe after WW2. I mean, what's the difference between a "puppet" and a legitimate state?

Popeye's not wrong about that. Neither are you, Gary.
Here's what always puzzles me, though. It's people who know that the various governments -- both Russian and American -- are manipulating the narrative and abusing people...and they insist that the solution to that is
more big government. Like, maybe even global governance, or if not that, at least a more and more bloated and top-heavy national welfare state.
That's like fighting a flood by using a fire hose, or fighting a fire by using gasoline. How is there anybody who thinks that the problems of tyrannical governments can be fixed by giving more power to governments?

True there are other power elites but there is no other country as imperialistic and interested in world domination as America. Again, with this crisis one needs to ask who is on whose border. America's aggression has forced the hand of much of the world and as such, as we speak; there is a global shifting of power occurring. The American dollar will be undermined and a united front formed through India, Russia, the Middle East, China, and all of southeast Asian. Vietnam should have taught America something, apparently it did not: it is now in for the lesson of its life, let's hope the world survives.

I agree. A large cumbersome government is inefficient and prone to corruption. So are large corporations and individuals who accumulate more wealth than that which they need to live and reasonably flourish. individuals shouldn't be allowed inordinate power or ownership in society to such an extent that they become defacto emperors.
