Anyone under 50 is young.
It takes that long for human mind to become a working machine.
Like seating an engine. Thus true philosophy of 'being' comes from the old[er]
Rubbish?
Yes brilliance often overcomes wisdom.. and great thoughts are thunk by the young.
Endless dreams of great complexity. Our technological society is a product of such.
such a good and fair system it is.
Untill they need food.

Ok kids .. who has the bow and arrow?
Jason . well at least the arrow will go the right way.

Who is always the spiritual and often physical leader of a tribe?
The elder.

try to think. It works.

When the question becomes the quest, the quest is the answer, and to continue is all that is required.

"Does God exist?" is a question without an answer that can be provided by emperical evidence, but the contemplation of that question can be all that is required.

The ones with pieces of paper, authorizing them to speak and to teach, usually remain true to the ones that gave them this privilege over the young and the stupid.

Take any art teacher and find amongst them a brilliant artist.
I fear the university classrooms are full of un-thinkers: historians of thought that have no talent for it themselves.

Still, in these times that piece of paper signifies much to the obtuse, unable to discern quality from quantity.
When judging and discriminating has become an insult and billions feel like they have a "right" to be heard, just as they have a right to pass on their inferior genes, the many require "experts" to guide them and tell them what is to be considered reliable and what is to be called "hating", "primitive" and obscene.

And what has philosophy become?
A casual, aloof, recitation and repetition of what an other has seen and thought, while, in the meantime, the "self-evident" morals and "truths" remain untouched and unchallenged.

The teaching of a subject in the classroom and the practice of that subject in the real world will diverge over time unless the subject is constantly drawing from the ranks of those whe do it for a living. I was unfortunate in being taught subjects that were long seperated from the professions and had a rude awakening when I went from teaching to working in the field. There was much to unlearn and relearn when faced with reality.

I have been told by many..

'Why dont you teach history"
a thing i have only touched on in this forum.

Because i love my craft. An the 1 in 20 who may be historians.. is not enough.

Satyr. I agree with much

True

You are me talking.

However. Those billions are people. And you and i must accept this.
They have a right to their ignorance and stupidity.

Jesus died , nailed to wood. So he could say.
with conviction.
Lifes a piece of shit. when you look at it. You gotta learn to laugh and dance and sing."

"Based on his essays on ww2.. alone.. we want him. This 11 year old kid knows more about german general staff {Oberkommando der Wehrmacht }, than i do."

i flaked out and went for shielas drugs alcohol and heavy music. in sort of that order. :)
Alea iacta est

I never applied for entry into a uni. after that.
I dont need rote learning.
By such i have 5 degrees already.
My essay on Axis invasion of USSR. For High school finals, was i'm told.. phd material.

Im still stupid but well read.. lol

The self evident. What i call reason. is unchallenged because who can rationally argue with reason?
What is 'GOOD'
What is EVIL
Only reason has answers to this.
That anyone can trust as unbiased.

Human beings are liars and full of shit.
Reason alone is unsullied. It is a method. And methods can be writ in stone.

WHATS THIS THEN
CENTURION: What's this, then? 'Romanes Eunt Domus'? 'People called Romanes they go the house'?
BRIAN: It-- it says, 'Romans, go home'.
CENTURION: No, it doesn't. What's Latin for 'Roman'? Come on!
BRIAN: Aah!
CENTURION: Come on!
BRIAN: 'R-- Romanus'?
CENTURION: Goes like...?
BRIAN: 'Annus'?
CENTURION: Vocative plural of 'annus' is...?
BRIAN: Eh. 'Anni'?
CENTURION: 'Romani'. 'Eunt'? What is 'eunt'?
BRIAN: 'Go'. Let--
CENTURION: Conjugate the verb 'to go'.
BRIAN: Uh. 'Ire'. Uh, 'eo'. 'Is'. 'It'. 'Imus'. 'Itis'. 'Eunt'.
CENTURION: So 'eunt' is...?
BRIAN: Ah, huh, third person plural, uh, present indicative. Uh, 'they go'.
CENTURION: But 'Romans, go home' is an order, so you must use the...?
BRIAN: The... imperative!
CENTURION: Which is...?
BRIAN: Umm! Oh. Oh. Um, 'i'. 'I'!
CENTURION: How many Romans?
BRIAN: Ah! 'I'-- Plural. Plural. 'Ite'. 'Ite'.
CENTURION: 'Ite'.
BRIAN: Ah. Eh.
CENTURION: 'Domus'?
BRIAN: Eh.
CENTURION: Nominative?
BRIAN: Oh.
CENTURION: 'Go home'? This is motion towards. Isn't it, boy?
BRIAN: Ah. Ah, dative, sir! Ahh! No, not dative! Not the dative, sir! No! Ah! Oh, the... accusative! Accusative! Ah! 'Domum', sir! 'Ad domum'! Ah! Oooh! Ah!
CENTURION: Except that 'domus' takes the...?
BRIAN: the locative, sir!
CENTURION: Which is...?!
BRIAN: 'Domum'.
CENTURION: 'Domum'.
BRIAN: Aaah! Ah.
CENTURION: 'Um'. Understand?
BRIAN: Yes, sir.
CENTURION: Now, write it out a hundred times.
BRIAN: Yes, sir. Thank you, sir. Hail Caesar, sir.
CENTURION: Hail Caesar. If it's not done by sunrise, I'll cut your balls off.
BRIAN: Oh, thank you, sir. Thank you, sir. Hail Caesar and everything, sir! Oh. Mmm!
