So, they sell meritocracy and anti-tribalism....BUT they practice it among themselves.
It's a way of disarming the adversary.

Many didn’t want to lose their job or worse, so they had no choice but to tolerate the perverse mad policies and marketing strategies of an oversaturated LGBTQ+ public campaign, that they flooded every corner of the US with. The world was gobsmacked over that one, I can tell you..

..disarming the adversary for their own ends, whilst they disrupt the world while doing so. Such things have disappeared under Trump, so there is that.
