It went right over your head If you can't understand the sort of exemplification that I've formerly found to be completely obvious to seemingly everyone I've ever interacted with my entire life, then I cannot imagine what you are able to understand. What joy could you possibly derive from a philosophy forum while not being able to see beyond the literal? Do you know what it means to not be able to see the forest for the trees? Or are you conveniently feigning ignorance?

I used to get indignant at comparisons like that. Because I figured they were reducing me to someone else. Because we each and all feel, that any comparison to anyone else is a reduction of ourselves.

Except when I was compared to Shakespeare by the critics for my writings. It was said about me, "this guy ain't no Shakespeare."

But your approach is novel: who is your doppelganger (or in the case of women, Doppelgangerine)? What does he look like, how does he speak, what's his name, who's his daddy? Is he rich like you?

Silly frickin apes without impulse control - like mindless randy dogs trying to hump your leg.

That case was less odd than some. In the 70s a mother of a friend was on a train and the man next to her lifted his newspaper to reveal his John Thomas. She apparently said, "Put it away before it catches cold or I'll hit it with a big stick"

That is funny and you handled it well, so to speak.

... Women are naturally, beautifully vain.
- The vanity is natural and perfect.
- The vanity allows a woman to absorb all that attention from the world and still focus on what she is doing, without distraction.
- Men in the know will honestly and sincerely tell a woman of her beauty every time she emerges for the world to see.
- This isn't flattery. It's a natural, appreciate response as he pinches himself, for how fortunate he is.

- The feminine compares beauty in the world to her own beauty.
- The masculine does not.

There is also a streak of femine vanity in men.
- It varies in degree.
- It accounts for actors, performers, Canadian politicians who need the attention coming in.

A few years ago a father takes a walk with one of his single, adult daughters. Right away he notices the eyes of men turning their way. Heads turning a fraction, eyes hanging on.

Then, while waiting in line for some ice cream, the father notices this one full-grown man, not a socially inept boy, staring at his daughter. The father takes this for about five seconds, then speaks quietly with low energy, pointing his words at just that man. He says hey buddy, and when the man looks at him, he smiles and looks the man right in the eye (the action that triggers monkeys) and he says, knock it off. And the guy does.

Not as hypothetical as you might think. In the wrong situation such a suggestion to a stranger could be trouble, but the father has a habit of assessing, most times accurately.

But what the father took away from it is knowing that men don’t prefer the constant scrutiny upon themselves that pretty, well-dressed women must receive constantly when in public.

It would certainly explain the male tendency to focus on principles and not gossip, or rather, not on himself.

Do you think that pretty women crave the attention that they receive from every passing male and are as hormonally enslaved as the men giving the attention?
