Following on from Nick's post about failure of male impulse control, I have a story about a similar kind of fellow. I dressed pretty well for a while in my corporate days before retirement delivered me back to the joys t-shirts and shorts. I had a short train trip to the CBD and there was one vacant seat next to a little older fellow in a black suit and a suitcase on his lap ...
So dopey me sits next to him. After a while I felt something on my thigh. I looked down and saw his little thumb rubbing the side of my thigh through my dress from under his suitcase. I looked up and he was looking straight ahead, playing innocent. I looked back to his little wiggly thumb to make sure because I had one of those weird moments where you wonder if it's actually real. I looked back up at him - still looking straight ahead.
I just cracked up - it was like a scene out of a comedy. This silly man and his silly, dirty thumb. He immediately stopped and withdrew Mr Wiggly. He alighted the stop before me and said, "Sorry, but I couldn't resist" and that got me laughing even more. Silly frickin apes without impulse control - like mindless randy dogs trying to hump your leg.
That case was less odd than some. In the 70s a mother of a friend was on a train and the man next to her lifted his newspaper to reveal his John Thomas. She apparently said, "Put it away before it catches cold or I'll hit it with a big stick"
That is funny and you handled it well, so to speak.
Men learn about the eyes of other men when walking with and protecting a beautiful, well-dressed woman.
The chemical-hormonal-cocktail mixes a different balance for everyone.
Women are as physically enslaved as men to beauty, just in a different way.
The masculine attention turns outward to see beauty.
The feminine attention looks at itself, often in the mirror.
These are tendencies.
Women are naturally, beautifully vain.
- The vanity is natural and perfect.
- The vanity allows a woman to absorb all that attention from the world and still focus on what she is doing, without distraction.
- Men in the know will honestly and sincerely tell a woman of her beauty every time she emerges for the world to see.
- This isn't flattery. It's a natural, appreciate response as he pinches himself, for how fortunate he is.
- The feminine compares beauty in the world to her own beauty.
- The masculine does not.
There is also a streak of femine vanity in men.
- It varies in degree.
- It accounts for actors, performers, Canadian politicians who need the attention coming in.
