What´s your favourite writer of British English ?

Mine is Chesterton (G.K.), he sounds quaint and relaxed.
I can feel a kind person behind the text and this puts my mind and my soul at rest.
I have such a huge volume of his collected writings that I will not be able to read them all before I die, I suppose.
