I don't think I'm particularly smart but I'm too smart to bother with Scruton.
I suspect that afterwards you will be totally confused again though.
If you find his books to have this effect, it's rather puzzling that you recommend them.

I only read one book because that's all I needed. If I need a quote I can usually make one up.
Hehe! Nice! 8)

You need to read something because right now as of this minute your tabula rasa in Philosophy is completely blank.

For your information, my tabula rasa has a very nice pot plant standing on it, not that the state of my furniture is any of you business. Philosophy is about thinking, which I prefer to reading. Running off to ask Roger Scruton what he thinks, every time you are looking for an answer, is not really engaging in philosophy.

But you need to learn how to think like a philosopher.

That will make you a better thinker.

Think of Scruton as a modern day Aristotle.

We are very fortunate to have such dedicated philosophers available to us.

If SHTF it will be too late then.

Why?
That will make you a better thinker.
I doubt it. It's more likely to make me start thinking like you do.
Think of Scruton as a modern day Aristotle.
I'd prefer to think neither of Scruton nor Aristotle.

I think the best thing would be for you to just carry on with your posts and I'll drop by from time to time and tell you when you're making a fool of yourself. That method usually seems to work quite well.

I like scrutons on my Caesar salad...provided they're not too big and over-toasted.

What, like the original?

You might be over-scrutonizing there...

Any amount of Scruton is over-scrutonizing.
