..and why not?

Do you sometimes, but not always often?

Rhythm, pitch, volume, timbre. These are the only musical concepts I know of.

There's a lot of superfluous noodling in this long ass song but here's a sweet spot for u. at 2:00 when the down beat is found and then at 2:10 when the bass drops in. tell me that's not one of the sweetest transitions you've ever heard man. even miles davis is nervous after hearing that.

"Seriously where are you gonna get this quality of composition and musicianship these days?"

you're not, and don't u ever aks a question like that again.

in fact my very first encounter with Yes wuz on the ride home from mary e. philips redirectional school (i needed redirection apparently) in Zonk's ford ranger. his stereo speakers were fucked up and only one of em worked right.... so in the right speaker we hear Bruford and Squire only, like a panned effect... the left speaker worked but wuz muted and distant. i rememeber i wuz trippin on that heart of the sunrise groove, being a drummer, and being able to hear Bruford isolated like that. i wuz like bro wtf is he doin? at this time i hadn't heard any real prog rock and wuz familiar only with standard rock and metal. before i heard any jazz fusion or even knew who Zappa wuz (except the name, etc.) i wuz seventeen.

Yessir they were my very first prog rock band, Sculp. And that Anderson is a fairy doesn't bother me in the least.

Wait no it wuz Rush! I totally forgot. Twelve years old in the mental institution and my roomy Bruce who wuz a skater kid with long bangs (an emo OG) that had Caress Of Steel on cassette. Technically Rush counts as a prog rock band but they're so mainstream I unconsciously file them as rock.

time
https://youtu.be/zhRzORqNa0E

Time, flowing like a river
Time, beckoning me
Who knows when
We shall meet again, if ever
But time keeps flowing
Like a river to the sea

Goodbye my love
Maybe for forever
Goodbye my love
The tide waits for me
Who knows when
We shall meet again, if ever
But time keeps flowing
Like a river (on and on)
To the sea, to the sea

'Til it's gone forever
Gone forever
Gone forevermore

Goodbye my friend
(Goodbye my love)
Maybe for forever
Goodbye my friend
(Who knows when
We shall meet again)
The stars wait for me
Who knows where
We shall meet again, if ever
But time keeps flowing
Like a river (on and on)
To the sea, to the sea

'Til it's gone forever
Gone forever
Gone forever
Gone forever now
Forevermore, forevermore
