Do understand the ETHICS underpinning the empires worldview, we must study the empires traits, as these have presented themselves, over decades of actions, and its own stated ideals.
Americanism's basic tenets
Every culture has its own ideals.
Civilizations emerge to convert these cultural ideals into actions.
Every culture has its own ethics, amendments of naturally selected moral behaviors, which men convert into text.
Some ethical amendments are common because no system can survive without them. Others are not, or they differ on the degree of importance they ascribe to them.
For example, adultery is common across all civilizations, because the system collapses if men return to their primal sexual behaviors, but the degree of importance they ascribe to abortion, or any form of in-group violence, is determined by their respective ideals.

What do we call those who use asymmetrical means to fight against an established empire?
The ideal of certain Sixties radical groups was that of stimulating the masses to join in an armed revolutionary struggle to undermine (neo-) imperialism (headed up now by the US as the directing, postwar power) and create universal communism.
I don’t know. What do we call them?

We call them Abrahamic spiritual nihilists.
Frankfurt School post-moderns. Those that were "chosen" to "liberate mankind" from nature injustices....marking themselves in symbolic self-castrating rituals
The same "logic" evolves from spiritual to secular variants, exploiting the same human weaknesses.
I diagnose, I do not prescribe.

I don’t know, it seems to me that all diagnosis contains prescription.

Really?
What if I diagnose a man as being mortal....am I offering a solution?
One begins with a diagnosis.....objectively. This means one does not allow personal reactions and solutions to enter the picture.
If I diagnose a dog as being dumb, what prescription am I offering?

Descriptive narratives differ from prescriptive narratives in that they purport to state only factual problems without making suggestions for solving those problems.
For example, your homeboy Marx was descriptive in Das Capital and prescriptive in the manifesto.

I know what you are.
I've been reading your exchanges with Mary.
Mary....you know as
iamavictimofobjectivism.
I've known her since before she came here to annoy you.
Her feminine ways are excruciatingly persistent. Nagging.
And she wins every battle.
Look what she's made us do? We spent time on her.
For me, she's a symptom. and what we do with carriers of a disease is we quarantine them, and let them go through the cycles of their disease.
Diagnosis...Prescription.
--------------
By the way...or Note to Others
promethean75 is her biggest fan.
He finds the feminine spirit irresistible when it offers him such comforting pleasure.
A Marxist girl is easy.
