What makes you think it is not ok? Feelings?

mutually assured destruction only works if one doesn't want to be destroyed

suicide bombers with nukes are something no one wants

And no one wants a country to have nuclear weapons so that it can bully countries that don't.

That's the thing. Good point.

Sting wrote a famous song called "Russians," about the arms race of the Cold War period. And it ended with the refrain, "I hope the Russians love their children, too." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHylQRVN2Qs

That might have worked for the Russians. But when you're dealing with a completely different psychology -- one that prizes the opportunity of marching their children into mine fields, or promises 72 virgins to those who self-immolate, that refrain rings hollow.

Islamists would be gleeful to immolate their entire populations in nuclear holocaust, if it could be interpreted by their bloodthirsty deity as "martyrdom." You can't bargain with such people, can't threaten them, can't make them fear for their lives or their families. They're past all that.

Fletch has witnessed the same tale.
Maybe you’ll listen to Fletch.

He begins:

Not A War of Choice
https://www.americanthinker.com/article ... hoice.html
Despite the wailing and gnashing of teeth from the Democrat-media complex, the war with Iran is not a war of choice in any practical sense. If anything, the current operations represent the end of the great pretending, since Iran has long been at war with us, keeping their attacks just low enough in intensity or with just enough plausible deniability to allow for the continuance of that pretending.
Good line. The end of the great pretending.

That shooter chasing rabbits through the hotel hallway was a big pretender.
