this has not been my experience

my wife and i have been bffs since JK

we were at the same school

I was there because my parents owned a house in a rather affluent suburb that was its own school district - they were - and continue to be - fairly well to do
not sure if they are in the lower upper class or middle upper class or what - but somewhere in that range - basically the lower end of the 1%)

she was there because her mom was a live-in housekeeper in one of the affluent houses in the suburb

the class difference has never been anything more than a matter of minor biographical detail - it is not something that affects our relationship
