Once again bob. Not you or we as you and your relatives had nothing to do with it. There are some Americans who could probably claim this tho'.

One nice thing about the British Empire, it accidentally spread the concept of Democracy around the world. Oh! Two nice things, it pretty much gave up the Empire with very little incidence compared to many.

"The redcoats are coming, the redcoats are coming!" Yeah, tell your little story to Paul Revere.

My apologies, I meant the rest that we became resigned to giving up about a 160 years later.

The British always have a lame excuse for their malfeasance.

Yes, let's not talk about the recent past, let's talk about ancient history, it's easier to stomach, right?

Let's see, when did the British last invade the Falklands?

Lets think, 1982 I think when Ronnie Rayguns best friend, General Galtieri the dictator and president of Argentina tried to use nationalism to bolster himself. Result, the beginning of the end of the American supported Junta and its death squad Intelligence Battalion 601.

Way before that it was an unsettled island that Europeans settled. Here's a wiki history,

Falkland Islands History

Much like America but without the genocide or slavery. Still, you want to pick on the British Empire in these matters? Then look no further than Australia and Tasmania.

The Falklands are a million miles from England. What business does England have there anyway? Not a single Pound Sterling of British taxpayers should be spent on the Falklands. Just flush your money down the toilet and cut out the middleman.

Don't be stupid bob as there is Oil there. We also have this old fashioned thing called supporting those who consider themselves British when they're invaded by despots despite the cost. Quaint I know.

Oh, I forgot, all that Falkland oil we keep hearing about. And why would you want to support those idiots halfway around the world who think they're British? That in itself proves you're all looneys!

Because they are British bob.

It's why we went there in the first place, the oil is just an afterthought(unlike the Yanks thoughts), we'd have gone regardless as we have this strange thing about dictators invading our citizens.

It's also why we fought American sponsored terrorism in Ireland for decades.
