Israel is not looking for such idiotic credit, Israel's merit is that it eliminates Hamas, just as ISIS was destroyed in Iraq and Syria, but warned the civilian population to leave the combat zone to the south.
The fact that the civilian population followed Hamas' call not to evacuate, or was stopped by Hamas, is Hamas's responsibility for using the civilian population as human shields.
Why don’t all these world demagogues condemn Hamas for their use of civilians as human shields, and at least one of these demagogues would even say a word?

Hamas did what it did because it WANTED Israel to react in exactly that way. It even prevented Gazans from evacuating after Israel's warning. That's how much Hamas cares about its own people!
Why else would they take hostages? What other possible reason was there to take those people? Did they turn a Kibbutz into an abattoir (actually abattoirs are kind and compassionate by comparison) because they thought Israel would turn around and say 'Aww. You are right. Here's our country. You can have it. Now we will all leave (including all the Arabs who enjoy equal rights in israel)? And when they took those hostages (many of them babies and children who are now orphaned and terrified) did they think Israel would say 'Pretty please give them back. We will do whatever you want' ? Israel doesn't negotiate with terrorists and baby torturers. Hamas took the hostages because it knew Israel would bomb the crap out of Gaza as a result, then they could claim that Israel killed all the hostages (who are most likely long dead). It's just another way to psychologically torture Israelis.
Why would Hamas leaders give a shit about anything but their own personal fortunes and power? Their personal grooming bill alone would be more than a year's wages of the average Gazan.
