Did Jesus do much hunting, I wonder?
Come to think of it, apart from when they put him on that cross in his underpants, he was always wearing something that resembled a dress.
Dresses are probably pretty comfortable. When I attended public school pretty much all the girls wore slacks, though. I suppose someone has to wear the dresses. Otherwise, how could we tell them men from the women?
\_(*_*)_/
It's easy to spot which are the men; they will be wandering round with spears, looking for things to kill.
I think that is sort of the image some people think a man ought to uphold. I've never understood that view.
You're a good guy, Harbal.

I think that belief stems back to the biblical tribe, the Morons.

You forgot to add REAL before the word men.

"It's interesting to see Christianity making a comeback, offering young people community and meaning."
If it is, that comeback is proportionate to the amount of exasperation, panic and fear that they are experiencing in the world right now.
Incidentally (and woefully ironic), the thing they look to for consolation (religion) is the very thing that was and is instrumental in turning the world into such a hopeless mess.
".... religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, etc.'

Meat-eating was only permitted after the Flood, as a concession to human weakness.
And the human digestive system. It's evident that we are omnivores. Were we not, our teeth would be different, and we would lack the enzymes to digest meat. So being carnivorous is not foreign to our natural constitutions.

That's Marx. He disliked "religion" (by which he understood primarily Christianity and Judaism, for none others were significant in his ethos) because it made people happy. Happy people do not become rebellious, rise up and overthrow the social order. They work peaceably within it, or endure with patience what cannot be changed; but they do not burn, destroy, kill or mangle. So they make lousy revolutionaries: and above all, Marx wanted revolutionaries.
People don't always pay close attention to Marx's analogy. He called religions "opium." Opium is a soporific drug...a
sleeping drug. An opium den is a place where people lie around on mats in a semi-comatose state. It's not like cocaine or "uppers," where people become aggitated and active. What Marx wanted was that -- aggitated, angry, hostile, unhappy people -- good revolutionaries, easy converts to his purposes.
And so it is now. The first step of Wokies is to become miserable and alienated. Unhappy people make revolutions. But the problem is that while they're keen on destroying, they're utterly unfitted to establishing any new order or making anything work. All they can do is gripe, scream, pout, bully and destroy...but they can't build, create, design, establish, perpetuate or sustain anything.
Yet another reason not to like Marx. He wants you miserable and mean, and ready to bust up the world.

Hunting is probably the oldest male activity there is...or close to it. Any man should be able to hunt. And if he can't...well, he can always wear a dress and cook the stuff other men bring in.
Did Jesus do much hunting, I wonder?

Well everybody in his ethos ate meat. And given that it was actually a religious duty to participate in feasts of the people, it's most likely he did eat meat. By all accounts, He was very observant of religious duty.
But be careful what you mock. One day, you'll stand before HIm as Judge. And as He promised,
"every idle word that a man shall speak, he shall answer for in the Day of Judgment."

But did he kill it himself, or was he a hypocrite, like me?

I think you misunderstand who, exactly, I am mocking.

Did Jesus make all his promises in blue?

All that response seems to imply is that in the beginning life was a good place, where man and beast lived in complete happiness and harmony as one whole perfect totality. But then somewhere along the line, the humans became fractured as they became aware of the offering of a will to chose between opposites, being of a contrary curious nature that they were.
So then that will to choose became irresistible, they wanted to get a taste of the bad place as well. Itβs how they were able to differentiate between what felt acceptable to them and what was not acceptable. Now, they are all lumped together In both the good place and the bad place simultaneously.

I was quite obsessed with motor bikes between the ages of 16 and 17, but after an unpleasant incident I've never been near one since.
