What does that mean?
Good morning my friend accelafine.
What does "
Nothing is, until you make it so." mean?
This is what it means to me.... everything outside of you are "events".
When you perceive an event, you (we all of course) give it a value.
For example.:
Say you get into an accident (and you/everyone are fine) and your car is damaged beyond repair. Of course, when the accident happens, you likely would get all mad.
You get a new car, and it is the BEST car EVER! You love it!!
Then you think.......that accident turned out to be a good thing.
Please understand the
concept. Not the car accident per se. But the
concept here.
The Buddhists have a story regarding this matter called "Maybe. (I think that is what they call it.)
Here, I will type it up for you below.
A farmers horse gets out of the corral and runs off.
The neighbors come by and say, "Too bad. Such awful luck."
The farmer says, "Maybe.".
The next day, the horse returns with a few other horses. The neighbors congratulates the farmer on his reversal of fortune.
The farmer says, "Maybe.".
When his son tries to ride one of the new horses, he breaks his leg in the neighbors offer their condolences.
"Maybe," the farmer says.
The next day, Army officials come by to draft his son into the Army and do not take the sun because he has a broken leg.
In essence my friend, nothing is good or bad until you assign it a value.
