Sorry, try again. Pit bulls act on their own, while guns need somebody else to pull the trigger.
And you have paranoid twats by the millions who are foaming at the mouth to do just that.
First of all, don't talk like a stupid idiot by throwing out the number of millions of Americans foaming at the mouth. I could do the same thing by saying there are millions of you bastards making stupid statements, but that would actually be the truth!

Right, that there are millions of fools like yourself, mainly in that cesspool of humanity, Europe!

When is 'double standards' different from false equivalence?
Banning guns is unconstitutional. Banning dogs and soft drinks is not. It is very difficult to amend the constitution; much easier to enact local statutes.
DUH!!!
It's called a f****** 'amendment' dipshit
DO I have to link a dictionary for you?
Why would I need a dictionary for something I brought up? Very odd answer. I was merely observing that the comparison between banning dogs and banning guns is not very apt. In many locations in the U.S., gun bans would be very popular. Many local jurisdictions attempt to regulate them heavily (only to be overturned by the Supreme Court). Bans on pitbulls are not nationwide. It's not as if everyone in the U.S. hates pitbulls and loves guns.

Pit bulls are dogs, and like any dog they need to be trained to do what they do. I'm keeping my daughters dog (a pit) and she is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever had. She's afraid of me, the other day I put her out and swatted at a fly that was bothering me and she cringed in fear that I was going to hit her.

That would make me feel ashamed. You should never hit a dog, or anything for that matter.

Nearly every dog owner in my neighbourhood owns these dogs. Aside from Labradors they are the most common breed in the UK.
We call them "staffies", as their fill name is Staffordshire Bull Terrier. "Pit Bull" is chosen to make them sound more dangerous.
They are all super friendly, thought powerfully strong, and only are violent when they are scared. Such bad behaviour has to be encouraged.
There are only bad owners.

Yeah, just like in the movie "Psycho," when at the end, Norman Bates, talking like his mother, says, "People will say, why she wouldn't hurt a fly."

My daughter has a harness for her dog that she is going to bring me and then I will make a sled small enough for the dog to pull, to let her do some work, She needs the exercise.
Pit Bulls need to be trained to fight, I much prefer their older label of "Nanny Dog".

What did you do to provoke the dog?

What did you do to provoke the dog?
If instinct overcomes socialization, which can happen when two or more dogs congregate, or can happen with a lone dog due to an unknown trigger, like lions they go for the weak. Too bad for the weak. (Children, etc.) Weak is relative. You may be perceived as weak by the instinctive dog pack. Singing the
Circle of Life as the dog pack surrounds is cold comfort.
Also, teach your children to not pet dogs when dogs are eating.
I've never been mauled, by the way. I also have a mind, I know dogs, and I know idiots. For instance, dogs are endearing because brave dogs don't know their size and a terrier will attack a bear to defend a human who might not do the same for the dog.
This is the advantage of intelligence, don't you know. Instead of suffering stupid mistakes, or instead of others suffering stupid mistakes on your behalf, one can instead think, especially when the lives involved are not your irresponsible own.
Big dogs are service dogs. Recognize their particular service as a kindness to the dog. For instance, if you have a border collie, make arrangements for it to practice-herd some sheep. Just talk to the sheep owner first. They will likely surprise you with a yes, since it will benefit the dog and keep the dog balanced.
How do you keep a pit bull balanced?
What if you showed up with a pit bull and asked the sheep owner if it could herd some sheep to keep it balanced?
I wonder how that would work out.

I don't need to hit her, she listens to me.

Don’t let your dog near the likes of barfly and poet, Charles Bukowski. But who knows. Maybe he was kind to his dogs.
