Bill, If you are telling us that all of our words are nothing but lies then we can assume you believe the statement has some truth value attached.

The consequences of, "All our words are lies", being a true statement, makes your statement false.

Do you mean an alienation or a difference? If you mean the former then I'd disagree as our thoughts are essentially perceptions of reality as provided by the senses and there is no another sense of reality possible.

If you'd read any 17th and 18th century philosophy you'd understand that such things have been comprehended and explicated fairly well. That you haven't should cause you great embarrassment upon a philosophy forum but then the gnu has a thick skin.

Is there any reason being a legitimate philosoper in today's world is significantly different than being a legitimate philosoper in any other time? You've always got to use the best information available to you, even if that leads in a completely different direction as the zeitgeist advances.
