For philosophical reflections on the COVID-19 pandemic. How can philosophy help us to understand it, to combat it and to survive it?

Not a trait I admire either (the ability to whip a mob of idiots into a frenzy).
I sometimes wonder how individuals in those Trumpist mobs look attractive to each other.
I believe they see themselves in each other.
I suppose so . However what we must do in the name of decency is not be too critical of poor Trump who is making heavy weather of his job as President.

I’m assuming you’re not serious about not criticizing Trump too much. What he did to children at the southern border, and continues to do to 545 of them, is immoral. In the name of decency, that action should be denounced vehemently along with its protagonist. I cannot imagine your disagreement with this.

I've never seen a photo of these 'children in cages'. Could it possibly be that facts have been distorted for political gain? Surely not.

According to one American commentator, in this country the govt. is forcing people into 'concentration camps' and it is little short of a Nazi police state. The reality is that there was a very short lockdown compared to other countries, no one had to wear a mask, and there were no arrests (apart from a couple of loons who kept leaving their two weeks of quarantine in a 5 STAR HOTEL. They will be soundly slapped on the wrist with a wet bus ticket..).Oh my. This all sounds JUST like the Nazis  In fact the govt. is so PC that it insists on following every old UN 'ruling' to the letter, meaning anyone with at least 'permanent residency' (which for a decade under the previous govt. could be found in cornflakes packets)--even those who have NEVER 'permanently resided here-- automatically has a 'right of return', even though we don't have the housing or infrastructure to cope with a sudden massive population influx of people who have decided that the grass is greener here than whatever country they actually 'permanently resided' in, people with no real connection to this country.

Amazing what people will believe when it suits them.

the solution to all these complaints, real & fabricated: close the goddamn border

bring 'murican military home, station 'em all on the border, allow not one soul to cross

don't process 'em, don't extend refugee status: turn them away

we can't afford 'em

Trump cannot help making mistakes as he is only human. Anybody might make the mistakes the poor man has made.

I can see now why you voted for Trump and praise him as your saviour.
He has done the impossible.
We can all rest easy and go about with no more masks, and no fear of infection.

Trump has never made a mistake in his life.
He has single handedly ended the pandemic.
How could the US fail to return him to office today?

That attitude is what I mean to decry. Donald Trump is a flesh and blood failure and we should empathise with him. It is not fair to expect Trump to be the President when he needs a rest.

What does a 'failed' US President look like?

The fact that the devoutly wokie loathe Trump so much should be more than an incentive to vote for him.
Biden is boring as fack.
