But this is neither here-nor-there. I do see both sides of the argument. I do agree in heavily civilized, feminized societies ("first world nations") that means of weaponry and death ought not be relegated to the regular, average person. However, with respect to a Constitutional Republic, I do see the importance and arguable Need for Citizens to be able to arm themselves, to protect both their individual Rights, and the Right of their State/Republic. However, this is a highly demanding task. Because a Republican society requires that Citizens be heavily educated (NOT indoctrinated), and able to think for themselves, as Free-Thinkers. It's arguable that this is also no longer the case in the United States, as Marxists-Communists-Socialists have infiltrated and interfered with most of the public schools around the country.

I said I do not like being a human, I did not say I do not like other humans. Other humans can think and decide for themself if they like being a human. If you write the law in a way that the trade-offs are acceptable to the electorate - they'll vote for it.
If you write it in a way that the trade-offs are unacceptable to the electorate - they'll vote against it.

I have the same recommendation for that as I do with their absurd healthcare setup. There are times when America should quit the exceptionalism thing and look around the world to see whose ideas might be worth implementing locally. There's gun control laws all over the place, see which set works and copy them. America tends to write off everything from elsewhere on some "wouldn't work here" basis that everyone is supposed to just accept.

Don't forget, I think people with severe personality disorders such as yourself should also have no access to firearms. And I don't believe your story about offing two wannabe murderers, you are a bullshitter.

The simple solution to humanities problems.

Q: Do you feel sick to the stomach when you have to kill someone else in self-defense.
A: Yes.

Q: Would you rather not have to kill someone.
A: Yes.

Q: How about living in a world without guns then.
A: That would be the solution.

Now, as you can see, humans can live a life quite happily without guns.

It's obvious, no one really likes killing other people. If they would just admit that to themself. I certainly wouldn't like to kill someone.

Guns, what are they good for, absolutely nothing. Except for making money out of, profits before people.

Now, knives we need to cut things with, cars we need to get from A to B with, same for planes and trains.

But what do we need guns for? we don't, it's not like we cut vegetables with guns, or use them to spread jam on our toast, or use them to hammer nails into wood, or use them to stir our coffee.

So what are guns used for, that's right, to kill people with, and to make you feel sick to the stomach at the thought of having used the gun on someone else.

Maybe you haven't noticed - but for about 90% of laws and changes everybody tables - the americans already have them.

So there must be something else that you are missing from the equation. Your cookie cutter idealism seems to ignore the complexity as to why something which works in one context fails to work in another.

The thing is, humans know they are going to die. That's what makes them suffer emotionally in life, they have a conceptual language that generates meaning and purpose and value for them, and they do not like to lose it.

Therefore, people resent the thought of dying before their time. So the deliberate killing others of others in self-defense, is like a resentment of how dare my life be put under threat by someone else, it's like drinking poison and then expecting the other person to die. For a human it cannot be nice knowing you have to kill someone else so that you live. We all bleed the same blood, and breathe the same air, and feel the same emotions. Howabout we just learn to love ourselves, and not have to kill anyone, I mean, no one usually points a gun at their own head and shoots, so why do it to others. I can understand how one might feel, if they do not like living anymore, they can at least commit suicide, by jumping off a cliff onto some jaggered rocks below. They don't need a gun to kill themself, there are many other ways.

Animals die with grace and dignity, they have no other choice, and yet people seem to resist, or refuse to surrender to the effortless letting go of their life, they attempt to preserve it at all cost. Even into old age, people who can barely get out of bed in the morning due to their failing bodies, are still kept alive by other people thinking they must save a life and prolong it for as long as possible so that they at least live for just one more day.
