I see your point, but at the end of the day, we all choose what duties are appropriate for us. Although it might seem that many of us allow duties to be thrust upon us, we indeed make the choice to comply or not.

First off, my interpretation, of this or any of the images I post, is unimportant.



What IS important is the impression that the GIFs & images I use has upon fellow members here at the Philosophy Now Forums.



The fact that we are even discussing the meaning of this GIF proves it's importance and the incredible power these images and GIFs have upon this thread and upon this forum.

For me, this GIF visually expresses the power of technology and how it is changing the way we relate to each other as humans.

In respect to this thread - Erotic v Pornographic, I believe the internet will totally explode these two terms.



Technology will turn many connotative words and concepts on their heads.


What is erotic?


What is pornographic?


Do these terms - no, no, - CAN these terms exist?



This GIF is extremely powerful in it's representation of where humanity is and where it may be going.


Again, I really believe my view is not that important and there is no right or wrong when it comes to our individual interpretation.

If Sam is steady in his assertion 'fire is cold', and he lives accordingly, then Sam is liable to get burned all the time.

Sure, Sam can hold the view 'fire is cold' (a particular interpretation of the world) and -- as long as I'm payin' no price for his view -- I'm unlikely to try to change his mind.

Might be more accurate, then, to say each is entitled to his or her perspective, even if that perspective is insane.
