[Evidence enough for the point I was making - is that there is no hard and fast doctrine and that the church believes nothing today that it will insist upon tomorrow.
In the last 300 years or more it has followed changing public opinion on ethics and has not led it, at least in the West.

This ought to be enough to assert that religion has nothing to do with the moral teaching of an immutable god, and everything to do with the vicissitudes of human society.
We should be suspicious and attack any claim that the church is the leader of ethical opinion.

You really should be more careful and check your facts.I was not quoting from you, but Quoting "Greatest I am".
Look back to that 02 Mar 2011, 16:53, where you will see that the quote was already embedded in his work which I was quoting.
So it's you that are misquoting me.

As you can see from the last example. Where all I did was write a response below yours - the whole thing can get screwed up. That is why I tend to use colour to distinguish my writing from others.

And for many gays who remain religious, they have adjusted and learned to reconcile their life style with the dogma of the Church, accepting some doctrine and discarding others.

Today's gays are existentialist whose live style is not going to be crimped by some orthodox institution like the Church.
