Are you genetically related to your neighbor? Are you responsible for her? No, then you have no claim of ownership... right?

Ownership is not exclusive to what somebody chooses to do or not. There are greater factors. Do you feel affection toward the person? Do you even WANT to "Own" them / become responsible for them / take on their problems??

I don't own my granddad, who lives in the extra room cause he needs help. And man, what a cold metaphor for family you have and for some reason take literally.

I don't own anyone and I have kids. Own is a verb related to things or non-human animals and then plants. I don't own my sick cousin that I have agreed to take care of. I can sure kill him.

You can use the word however you like, but any deduction in relation to slavery from children won't work with me because I don't use 'own' in your idiosyncratic way. The arguments hold no sway for people who don't see their children as property.

A person has no Agency or Autonomy or Authority, to me, if they do not own his or her "Self".

I am not property. I am not a thing. So, no.

Thus making one a Slave, to somebody else, who does 'Own'.

LOL, I don't to use words in your idiosyncratic way, nor do I lose agency when I don't bow down to your ridiculous 'deduction'. You can see my agency in that, autonomy and authority in that. Or fail to.

How did Slavery exist for thousands of years if people didn't own each other, before?? Did it just disappear?

How do people "take responsible" for their children, if they don't own them? How is your child, not your property?!

WHAT?!

Well, I do own myself, IWP. I feel bad for you that you don't.

Seriously, you're being an idiot. I don't play your word game so all these other things that you can't demonstrate are true must be true.
This is a philosphy forum and while we're all pretty sloppy, this is just fallacious tripe. It's lazy and pissy also.
He doesn't want to use a word like I idiosyncratically do so I will tell him all these negative things about him
Grow up.

All the things you don't respond to just get more telling.

No, you don't. You don't feel bad. Faux sympathy (a lie) based on poor deduction based on your idiosyncratic use of a word.

It's not idiosyncratic. Most Americans and Westerners understand easily what is meant by saying "I own myself". It means the body is property of the mind, your body is property of your mind. The Western Abortion debate is premised on this language and these concepts. If you don't know that, well then ...you have some work ahead of you IWP.

Own yourself, gain some Autonomy and Agency in life.
