Re: The Philosophy Now Forum is back!
Thank you, Rick (and Bora), for keeping the forum up and running for us.RickLewis wrote: ↑Tue Feb 18, 2025 1:56 pm Sorry the Forum was down again down for several days. This was again due to waves of bots arriving on the forum and slowing down not just the forum but the entire Philosophy Now website as a result. Bora had to switch off the forum to save the rest of the website. Then yesterday he had a complicated but clearly very clever idea about how to protect the forum from the bots that involved reconfiguring the Cloudflare settings. He implemented that today, it seems to have worked and hey presto, we're back!
I, for one, greatly appreciate your efforts.

.
Has PN stopped accepting image uploads? as I can’t see the image-upload function anymore..
So words not images, nor either actions or contexts but just pure mere words.. but even mere words have to have a grounding or footing in the substantial, otherwise they are irrelevant, meaningless, vacuous, subjective, lacking, obtuse, gibberish, wanting.. wanting to make sense, not be nonsensical, but they can be theoretical, but theories aren’t facts, so back to the drawing-board we go.
Ergo.. circular argumentation.

Yes, sorry. The images were sometimes a problem, but overall I think they added something. People occasionally used pictures to make actual philosophical points.
However there are a lot of legal changes taking place in the UK regarding interactive websites (such as forums), and removing the ability to upload pictures will help us avoid some of the box-ticking.

We that have been participants upon this mind expanding website understand your concerns, and I know I have been guilty of posting images of humans that do not have their consent etc..
I promise I will not do that again, but perhaps if you have some trust in us forum old timers of which there are plenty, that we agree to notify you/mods immediately of any concerning image(s), that you'd reinstate the feature. The forum truly is lacking that extra nibble and as they say, a picture can paint a thousand swords.

Ridiculous. It's much better without the image option. 'Trust' doesn't come into it. You can't speak for others.attofishpi wrote: ↑Sat Apr 12, 2025 1:47 amDear Mr Lewis,RickLewis wrote: ↑Wed Apr 09, 2025 2:53 am Yes, sorry. Don't argue with me woman!
Honestly, people post some really funny stuff (images)...this is ridiculous having a forum that can't have images because of a disgusting regime (*Labour) commie bastards!!!
