In a way. And what is the source of all superstition, dogma, doctrine, and magical thinking? Reason. (Or shall I say, thinking with words?)
A desire for certainty, without which fear grows, even the sacred ignorance of the past, many still cling to it in the present. Some I believe do so because it promises not to change, and some find stability in that.
