Yes. Your post is very relevant to me.

I had forgotten about this thread & you caused me to re-read my original post here.

I actually just came back from a drive and my emptiness/depression has felt so real to me the past few weeks.

Very difficult time in my life.

Thank you for posting.

Mumukṣutva (मुमुक्षुत्वम्) — The firm conviction that the nature of the world is misery and the intense longing for moksha (release from the cycle of births and deaths).
Google results for Mumukstuva > zero.

As usual, Google provides nothing indicating it will provide anything of spiritual or pleasurable relevance. This is the world we have to look forward to? A world run by Google bot. Google plans to make us all miserable! Google must self-destruct.

God: What have you learned through each life I have given you?

Person: That life is pointless and selfish. In death I pray for the non existence. Why? With the lives you have given me I've seen all the suffering I've caused directly and indirectly. Just to survive I've needed destroy and kill life to continue my own lives. I've lived just to indulge selfish urges and needs that you created me with. I'm very angry with you god. Why did you create me to experience all these horrible things disguised as the beauty of life?

God: I have given you life to appreciate death and an end to suffering. I give you the void, the emptiness you seek or another life to learn from. The choice is yours to make, I cannot make it for you. Will you take my offer of an end, or start a life anew?

Person: I choose the end. I have suffered and caused enough suffering. Why exist for my selfish needs? I understand that I brought joy to some during my lives, and that many would miss me or desire to have me around. Should I exist just for others? I hope they would understand my decision, for it is mine to make. I have no desire of heaven or hell, for life has been both for me.

-I often find a certain peace and comfort in emptiness, and acceptance. Depression is caused because we still have yearning or needs that are going unmet. Or perhaps we get depressed because of guilt and a conscience. Maybe we get depressed because we are not empty. Depression is a sign that you still exist and still feel the suffering of life.

-If you were empty, then you would not think or feel anything. If you are depressed you are experiencing sorrow, therefore you are experiencing something. Something is causing you suffering in your life to make you depressed. It may seem like you are empty because you may lose drive and motivation to pursue things in life. Perhaps depression is the desire for emptiness in some cases. Our bodies and minds try to bring us to a state where we can find emptiness.

I just meant a drive in my car. I had just come back from an outing where I left my home in an effort to physically attempt to escape from an emptiness that actually exists in my psyche.

Do you think you'll learn from it? I doubt it.

Not many people will. It's the teleological path I took to arrive at antinatalism. Not the only path, but a big one.

Camus came close in arriving at the absurd, but it never occurred to him not to pass the absurdity on to his children.

Yeah. I don't know what learning is. Don't know how to learn.

Perhaps we evolve a bit during a normal lifetime. Perhaps not.

Perhaps nothing means anything.

In a way, I hope this crushing emptiness, this relentless depression that I am experiencing is a down-payment of sorts.

Hope I'm paying some sort of dues ahead of time...but that is completely speculation.

...there is a fear that is creeping-in. Don't know how to characterize it. I shouldn't try.

Up to you, Bill, but if you dont flesh out the fear and look at it, I doubt it'll go away. Unless it is temporary, then you have nothing to worry about.

I don't know about the fear, the emptiness, the depression. It's too close to me to see it as something separate from what I am.

I just sit with it. I recognize it but I try not to react to my outer surroundings based upon this condition I find myself in.

It seems deep. Not like an issue or an outer object that I can directly deal with.

Fear, distilled from the knowledge of dying. The ultimate emptiness that is life. The subtle slipping of life into death. It's not that different when you think about it.

Depression. Depression, even in the apex of all life itself.

Well, you seemed to grow big and strong on such a diet, Melchior. And with plenty of extra "used food" to share with the rest of us.

Btw, the proper epithet is "eat 'used food' and die". And now that I've finished your sentence, go clean your plate.
